Rheum officinale, the Chinese rhubarb, or Indian rhubarb is a rhubarb from the family Polygonaceae native to western China and Tibet. In Chinese it is called yà o yòng dà huáng, literally meaning medicinal rhubarb.
A perennial typically to 2m in height, with beautiful creamy-white flowers that are sometimes as much as 10' (3m) in height. The huge leaves are up to 30" (75 cm) in diameter. A beautiful garden ornamental.
